The comedy has already scooped up the awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy with wins for Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen. Stonestreet took back the award from his co-star Ty Burrell who won the Supporting Actor trophy at the 2011 ceremony. Stonestreet had previously won the award at the 2010 Emmy Awards. "Oh wow thank you very much, this is amazing," said funny man Stonestreet in his extremely genuine acceptance speech. "I wouldn't be standing here without Jesse Tyler Ferguson. There's no Cam without Mitch." What else did the actor have to say in his speech? Continuing to show the love for his on-screen husband, Stonestreet, 41, spoke to Ferguson, saying, "I'm proud to call you my friend, I love you." He added jokingly to his fans, "I never knew I'd be playing a gay man on TV, but I love the pictures of the hairy chests you guys are sending me." emmys 2012: who's sitting next to who at the award show? 12 Photos » A holler from fellow nominee Sofia Vergara could be heard after Bowen won the the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The 42-year-old was thankful for her award, saying, "My job really amounts to me falling down and making faces while wearing lipstick and nipple covers. The fact that that could be translated into an award or something artful is really a testament to the people that hired me." This is the actresses' second consecutive win in this category. In addition to the two acting awards, director Steve Levitan also picked up the award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for his work on Modern Family.
