After the actor revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch's character in Star Trek Into Darkness was Gary Mitchell, an iconic character from the original series' pilot, speculation has run rampant about how much the follow-up might take from the show, as opposed to trekking off into its own direction. Speaking to Celebuzz at Fantastic Fest, where Dredd 3D played as one of the opening night films, Urban was perhaps predictably diplomatic about the sequel's story. What does Urban promise audiences will experience in the 'Trek' sequel? "It was just wonderful getting back together with that team – we're like a family," Urban said. "J.J. Abrams is one of the most brilliant directors that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He's going to deliver something to an audience that's going to be epic, that's going to be emotional, and I'm really looking forward to it." "I just have such huge admiration for the TOS cast," he said. "The original series was something special to me that I enjoyed as a kid. And to be a part of that is an amazing privilege."
